Calum Clarkson
Manager
Calum began his Mathnasium journey as an instructor while still a junior at Savannah Arts Academy. After high school, he studied with the Georgia Film Academy, earning credits as a Production Assistant on films such as Gemini Man with Will Smith and Backtrace with Sylvester Stallone. While the film industry was exciting, Calum realized his true calling was at Mathnasium, where he could share his love of learning with students.
He enjoys making math fun and approachable while also passing along his passion. Calum likes playing golf, watching movies, and cheering for his favorite soccer team, Manchester City.
Aileen Clarkson
Owner
Aileen holds an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Business Analysis from Glasgow Caledonian University. Originally from Scotland, she moved to the United States in 2005 with her husband, who works as an Engineering Manager at Gulfstream Aircraft. In 2011, she opened her first Mathnasium in Savannah and has since expanded to Pooler, Bluffton, and even a location in England.
Her passion lies in helping children build a true love for math while reaching their full potential. Aileen is dedicated to making math understandable, enjoyable, and fun—emphasizing logic, problem solving, and confidence in every learner.
Matthew Tisdell
Instructor
Matthew graduated from May River High School in 2022, where he completed AP Calculus during his senior year. He is now pursuing an accounting certificate at Technical College of the Lowcountry. Math has always been his favorite subject, and he enjoys using his knowledge to support Mathnasium students as they grow in confidence and skill.
Outside of Mathnasium, Matthew enjoys jogging and staying active. He ran cross country and track throughout high school and has carried his passion for running with him ever since. His energy and perseverance inspire students to stay motivated in their own learning.
Christina Royals Paez
Communications Manager
Christina has been a Certified Georgia Educator since 2005, holding a B.S. in Middle Grades Education. Over the years, she has primarily served as a math instructor in diverse educational settings throughout the Savannah area. Since joining Mathnasium in 2016, she has worked in nearly every role, including five years as Center Director, before moving into her current position as Communications Manager.
In this role, Christina serves as a business ambassador, connecting Mathnasium with local schools and community events. Her extensive teaching background and leadership experience allow her to support both students and families with care, enthusiasm, and expertise.
