John DeMastri
Center Director
Hello! I’m John Center Director at Mathnasium of Franklin. I’ve loved working with kids and supporting learning ever since my very first job in high school as a teacher’s assistant at a daycare. Today, I get to bring that same passion to the amazing students and families here in Franklin.
I studied Physics and Philosophy at Northeastern University in Boston, and one of my favorite parts of working at Mathnasium is helping students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why it matters. Watching a student’s confidence grow—and seeing math click in a deeper way—is the best part of what I do. That’s why I believe so strongly in the Mathnasium approach: it turns math from a struggle into something students can truly enjoy and feel proud of. Outside the center, you might find me at a local concert, playing chess, or relaxing with my dog and a good book.
Fun fact: Before joining Mathnasium, I worked at Fermilab researching how stars and galaxies age—so if your child loves space, we’ll have plenty to talk about!
John Osborne
Owner
Hi, my name is John Osborne, and I’m the Co-Owner of Mathnasium of Franklin. I first discovered Mathnasium as a parent—I enrolled my son, hoping it would help him build confidence in math. What I didn’t expect was how much he loved coming here. The reward system, the caring instructors, and the fun, game-based approach made math feel exciting instead of overwhelming. Seeing that transformation firsthand is what inspired me to become involved in Mathnasium and bring that same experience to more families in our community.
Outside the center, I work in finance. I’m a CFA charterholder with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, a BS in Business Administration (with a minor in Mandarin Chinese) from the University of Richmond, and a certificate in Quantitative Data Science in Finance from Stevens Institute of Technology. But the title I’m most proud of is “parent”—and I bring that perspective into every decision we make at Mathnasium.
Fun fact: I lived and worked in Shanghai for four years, and I love sharing stories about it with students who are curious about the world!

Her experience across different ages and learning styles makes her an invaluable part of our team and a trusted mentor for our students.

A Franklin native, Hannah has always had a special way of connecting with kids—whether she’s guiding them through a tricky concept or helping run our family events. Families appreciate her patience, warmth, and ability to make learning feel both supportive and fun.
