• Do you offer online tutoring?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Harrisburg offers both in-center and online tutoring.  

  Students can participate in live, face-to-face sessions from home or at our center, whichever fits their schedule and learning preferences. No matter the format, all students benefit from our personalized, face-to-face instruction and proven teaching techniques delivered in a supportive, fun, and engaging group environment. 

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No. Whether attending online or in person, students receive the same personalized learning plans and caring instruction from our specially trained math tutors.  

  The format may vary, but the quality of instruction and outcomes remain consistent. 

• What math classes can your Harrisburg tutors help with?

  We can help students learn and master any K-12 math class or topic, from early numeracy and arithmetic to algebra, geometry, and beyond.

  Mathnasium of Harrisburg offers premium-value tutoring through a flat monthly enrollment fee and a one-time start-up fee. Most students benefit from attending 2–3 sessions per week; however, we recommend the ideal frequency of sessions following the student’s diagnostic assessment.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring at Mathnasium of Harrisburg?

  No, the cost is the same regardless of whether your child attends sessions online, in person, or uses a combination of both.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment at Mathnasium of Harrisburg?

  Each student begins their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment designed to help us identify their current math skills, learning gaps, and academic goals. We use assessment-based insights to create a personalized learning plan that supports their journey toward confidence and mastery.

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Harrisburg, we do not use a traditional curriculum. 

  We use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary approach that combines personalized learning plans with engaging teaching strategies. This approach allows us to teach math in a way that makes sense to each student, building upon what they already know and introducing new concepts in sequence, often transforming how they think and feel about the subject along the way. 

• Do you work with advanced students or with students who are struggling with math?

  Yes! We support K-12 students of all skill levels.  

  Students who are struggling in math class receive targeted, personalized instruction in a fun group environment to strengthen their foundation and rebuild confidence.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in the Harrisburg area?

  Yes! We welcome students from all educational background, whether they are homeschooled or attending a private or public school. Our flexible scheduling and personalized instruction are a great fit for customized learning paths.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. During sessions, our tutors set aside time to help students with their math homework, reinforcing classroom learning and boosting school performance.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, all learning happens during the session. We do not assign extra homework, allowing students to stay focused while at Mathnasium and enjoy a balanced routine at home.

• Do you prepare students for standardized tests?

  Yes! We prepare students for a variety of standardized exams, including the ACT®, SAT®, and state assessments. Our personalized test prep builds skills, confidence, and familiarity with test formats and strategies.
