  • Why do you require an assessment for enrollment at Mathnasium of Hillsboro?

Each student begins the enrollment process with a diagnostic assessment to help us understand how they think about math, identifies strengths, and knowledge gaps.

We use these insights to design a personalized learning plan to support their success.

  • How do you teach math? What approach do you use?

At Mathnasium of Hillsboro, we do not follow a traditional curriculum.

We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.

Following this approach, we build upon what the student already knows, gradually introducing new concepts and using interactive teaching methods to build the skills and confidence that will serve them in the classroom and beyond.

  • Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

Yes, we support students of all skill levels.

Students who are behind in class receive targeted instruction to build foundational skills, close knowledge gaps, and rebuild confidence.

Advanced learners benefit from math enrichment programs that challenge and expand their math knowledge to keep them engaged and motivated.

  • Do you work with homeschooled students in Hillsboro?

Absolutely! We welcome homeschooled students from Hillsboro and the surrounding areas.

Homeschooling families appreciate our flexible scheduling and personalized instruction that complements their unique learning paths.

  • Do you help students with their math homework, quizzes, and tests?

Our schoolwork policy is individually tailored to each student, and the first step in determining this is through our free assessment. We pride ourselves in helping students find independent success in math by addressing the root cause of why schoolwork is an issue: weak fundamental skills. If we find that a student has gaps in their knowledge, we make rebuilding these skills a priority. When a student's math foundations are strengthened to the point where they can grasp the concepts taught in their math class, only then do we allow students to work on schoolwork for a portion of their Mathnasium sessions.

If we provide help on schoolwork prematurely, it would create a sense of dependence, not independence, within a student. Nor would it help them find confidence in math. Not a winning strategy!

Our Mathnasium Method has proven successful with thousands of students over the 10+ years we've served our communities. We'd love to help your student achieve "Confidence in Math, Confidence in Life!". Click the button above to book your free assessment today!

  • Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

No, all learning happens during our sessions. We do not assign homework, which allows students to focus entirely on learning and making progress while they’re with us.

  • Does Mathnasium of Hillsboro prepare students for math on standardized tests?

Yes, Mathnasium of Hillsboro helps students prepare for standardized and school-based math tests, including state assessments, SAT®, and ACT®.

Our test prep includes targeted practice, personalized strategies, and confidence-building support.
