  There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly. After a diagnostic assessment, we create a personalized learning plan with a recommended session frequency tailored to your child’s goals.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  Each student begins their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment to identify current skills, learning gaps, and academic goals. This allows us to develop a personalized learning plan that supports their unique path to success. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Scotts Valley, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.  

  Following this approach, our specially trained tutors build on students' existing knowledge, introducing new concepts step-by-step to gradually increase their mathematical thinking, while developing lasting confidence and competence in math. 

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  Both! We support students of all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or are ready to get ahead on their math journey.

• Do you help students with their homework?

  Yes, homework help is included in our sessions. Our tutors set aside time to help with assignments so students can reinforce the concepts they are covering at school and reduce stress at home.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, all learning takes place during sessions, either in-center or online. We do not assign additional homework, so students stay focused and productive during their time with us. 

• Does Mathnasium of Scotts Valley prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Scotts Valley prepares students for school-based and standardized math tests, including state exams, ACT®,  and SAT®.  

  Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.
