Franchise Owner
Tim Madden, a proud Bishop McDevitt High School graduate, earned a four-year Navy/Marine Corps ROTC scholarship to Villanova University, where he completed his degree in Engineering. After graduation, he served nine years as a Naval Aviator, holding positions such as Aircraft Commander, Instructor Pilot, and Senior Instructor Pilot.
Following his military career, Tim became an airline captain for JetBlue Airways, one of the youngest in the country at the time. A lifelong mentor and youth sports coach, Tim is passionate about teaching and leadership. He believes that with proper instruction and motivation, anyone can achieve success, especially in math.

Center Director
Ryan graduated from Penn State University with a major in Applied Statistics and a minor in Economics. Before becoming Center Director, he joined Mathnasium as an Instructor in 2022 and was quickly promoted thanks to his leadership and passion for education.
Ryan loves helping students discover how math shapes the world around them. His goal is to make learning math both engaging and empowering, giving students skills that last a lifetime. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys sports, especially basketball.
Abby
Assistant Center Director
Abby earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Mathematics and Disability Studies from Shippensburg University. She plans to pursue a master’s in Clinical Psychology and is passionate about helping students grow academically and emotionally.
Her favorite part of teaching is witnessing a student’s “Eureka!” moment, when understanding finally clicks. Abby brings warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm to every session, inspiring confidence in each child she teaches.
TJ
Instructor
TJ is a freshman at Harrisburg University studying Engineering and Math Sciences. His diverse interests include karate, theatre, art, and gaming, and he leads his own Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
He enjoys helping the next generation develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through math. TJ’s goal is to make learning interactive, meaningful, and fun.
Hamza
Instructor
Hamza is a senior at Cumberland Valley High School with plans to study Computer Science at Boston University. A member of the CV Technology Student Association, he participates in cybersecurity programs and even takes a Computer Science course from Harvard University.
Outside the classroom, Hamza enjoys video games, programming, and watching horror movies. He loves working at Mathnasium because it allows him to break down math misconceptions and show students that math can be enjoyable and rewarding.

John Paul is a Senior at Shippensburg University and is studying applied mathematics and physics. John Paul plays the guitar and likes to play video games in his free time. He is also into sports and has coached basketball in the past.

Ben graduated from West Milford High School in 2011. Before graduating, he participated in several math competitions as part of the Mu Alpha Theta math league. He has always been fascinated with numbers, and how they describe the world. He has a passion for teaching, often coaching his fellow students during after school programs. In his free time, Ben enjoys reading fantasy novels, and strategy board games.
