Konner
Director of Student Success
Konner earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), and has been a vital member of the Mathnasium of Monterey leadership team since 2022. As the Director of Student Success, Konner oversees every student's educational journey in our center, ensuring that our instructional team consistently meets the high standards of The Mathnasium Method™. In his role, Konner manages the implementation of Mathnasium's Operating System. He works at the intersection of data and instruction, supervising our staff to ensure that the complex insights provided by Radius are translated into clear, actionable progress for each student. This professional oversight ensures that our center’s proactive approach extends far beyond simple homework help.
Konner finds it nearly impossible to resist solving any math problem he encounters—especially when it helps a struggling student get back on track. When he’s not thinking about math, you might find him on the tennis court!
Marzena
Center Director
Welcome! As Center Director, I oversee a specialized team of instructors to ensure operational excellence for families across Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Seaside, and Marina. My focus is on the rigorous application of the Mathnasium Construct, ensuring every student benefits from our proprietary Radius™ Operating System.
While private tutors in the Monterey Peninsula often offer reactive homework help, our organization provides a proactive, system-driven education. I personally manage our advanced diagnostic assessments to address foundational gaps and build long-term math literacy that independent instruction simply cannot replicate. By aligning our elite instructional team with the academic standards of local school districts, I ensure that Mathnasium of Monterey remains the gold standard for supplemental math education.
Reflecting our commitment to the community, Mathnasium of Monterey is proud to have been voted the "Family Favorite" in the tutoring and after-school category for four consecutive years. We are honored to serve students across the Monterey Peninsula Unified, Carmel Unified, and Pacific Grove Unified school districts, as well as many charter and private school families who call this region home.

He enjoys showing students how math relates to real-world phenomena and takes pride in helping them build strong fundamentals, improve problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in fractions, word problems, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry.
Drawing on this academic background, Andrew serves as Lead Instructor and has completed over 2,000 hours of specialized instruction at our Monterey center. He is experienced in applying The Mathnasium Method™, expertly using our proprietary teaching strategies to boost student confidence and skills. Andrew focuses on translating Radius diagnostic data into actionable insights, ensuring that each session goes beyond basic homework help to address foundational gaps necessary for long-term math mastery.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys listening to music and playing both guitar and piano—combining creativity with discipline, which reflects his dedication to guiding students through math step by step.

Math Instructor II
Isabelle graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science. She brings a high level of academic rigor and a supportive, sharp approach to the Mathnasium of Monterey team. As an Instructor, she specializes in breaking down complex multi-step concepts—from foundational fractions to advanced Geometry—into clear, manageable logical sequences.
Leveraging her expertise in logic and data structures, Isabelle effectively applies The Mathnasium Method™ to help students bridge foundational gaps through our proactive, system-driven framework. She is particularly skilled at using our proprietary constructs to turn "word problems" from a source of anxiety into solvable logical puzzles, ensuring every student masters the "why" behind the math.
Outside the center, Isabelle plays the harp, a pursuit that requires a unique blend of creativity and intense focus. She brings the same disciplined patience to every session, helping students build the confidence and long-term math literacy that independent instruction cannot.

As a winner of the local ASMA math competition, Jack brings a high level of technical skill and a motivating, game-like spirit to every session. His proactive approach ensures that even our youngest students address foundational gaps early, providing a structured head start that independent, reactive tutoring cannot offer.

Lauren
Math instructor
Lauren is a senior at Carmel High School and represents the top tier of local mathematical talent. At Mathnasium of Monterey, we uphold an elite instructional standard: every applicant must pass a rigorous, comprehensive mathematics examination before joining our team—a benchmark that many applicants with impressive resumes do not meet. Lauren’s success on this assessment demonstrates her deep mastery of the subject.
As an instructor, Lauren thrives on the "click" moment when a student masters a difficult concept. She utilizes The Mathnasium Method™ to clarify Elementary and Middle School math, with a special focus on our Great Foundations program for our youngest learners. Whether she is helping a child develop early number sense or guiding a middle schooler through the logic of Pre-Algebra and core word problems, her approach is proactive and systematic. This ensures that students build the confidence needed for long-term academic success, which independent tutoring cannot provide.
Outside the center, Lauren enjoys running through local state parks, baking for her family and friends, and playing with her cat, Fyodor. Her discipline in distance running and the precision required for baking reflect the patient, step-by-step guidance she offers to every student at our center.
Sophia
Math Instructor
Sophia exemplifies the highest level of local mathematical talent and academic achievement. A standout student at Pacific Grove High School, she has gained admission to Stanford University, highlighting her exceptional logical and analytical skills.
At Mathnasium of Monterey, Sophia passed our demanding, all-encompassing mathematics competency exam—a rigorous barrier to entry that guarantees only the most talented minds in the county work with our students. Trained in the gold standard of The Mathnasium Method™, Sophia is skilled at helping Elementary and Middle School students understand the fundamentals of 2nd through 5th-grade math, including fractions, decimals, and multiplication. Her proactive teaching approach transforms math anxiety into confidence, ensuring each student develops the "number sense" necessary for future success.
Outside of work, Sophia enjoys playing the flute and reading. During her free time, you might see her walking her dog, Brownie, on the beach! Her move to Stanford this fall reflects the same dedication, precision, and drive for excellence she demonstrates in every student session at Mathnasium of Monterey.
Students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.
