Owner & Center Director
Julie Williamson serves as Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of New Tampa. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Since purchasing the center in 2007 with her husband Mathew, Julie stays passionate about helping students grasp math in ways that truly make sense.
Her dedication to student success has garnered local and national awards, including Best Instructional Miracle, Best Communicator, and Best Customer Service. Julie proudly supports New Tampa and Wesley Chapel families with engaging, personalized math instruction.
Virginia Rice
Assistant Center Director
Virginia discovered her passion for working with students while studying at the University of South Florida, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. She has over 10 years of experience as a certified classroom teacher, with endorsements in ESE, Gifted education, and ESOL.
Virginia has also served as a Subject Area Leader and District Math Coach in Hillsborough County. At Mathnasium, she is dedicated to fostering strong student relationships and helping children build lifelong confidence and enthusiasm for math through understanding and support.
Mathew Williamson
Owner
Mathew earned an advanced joint Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida, where he also served as a teaching assistant. After graduation, he taught at Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida before joining Mathnasium full time.
In 2007, Mathew and his wife Julie purchased Mathnasium of New Tampa. His commitment to the Mathnasium Method™ and student success led to his selection as a Franchise Business Consultant in 2011. He has helped Mathnasium centers across Florida deliver effective math instruction that makes sense to students.
