• Where is Mathnasium of North Blue Valley located?

  Take the “old” Metcalf at the Metcalf/Blue Valley Parkway split, turn left onto 119th Street, and then right into La Paloma Shopping Center. You’ll find us between Trinity House Catholic Bookstore/Fresenius Medical Center and Best Regards Bakery/Johnny’s.

• Does Mathnasium of North Blue Valley offer online tutoring?

  Yes, Mathnasium of North Blue Valley provides both in-center and online tutoring.     

  All our students receive caring face-to-face instruction in a fun small-group environment, whether they attend in person or log in virtually. 

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No, whether attending online or in-center, all our students receive the same quality of live face-to-face instruction.   

  Online students follow the same personalized learning plans and receive the same caring support from our specially trained tutors as their peers who attend Mathnasium in person. 

• What math classes can your North Blue Valley tutors help with?

  Mathnasium of North Blue Valley’s tutors work with K–12 students of all skill levels who want to learn and master any math class or topic, including early childhood math, Algebra, and Geometry. 

  Our tutors follow personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs, helping them build foundational skills, improve grades, and gain confidence in math. 

• Is there a minimum age required to attend Mathnasium of North Blue Valley?

  At all Temple Ventures centers, we require students to be able to read well enough to work on their own, and to be able to stay focused for the duration of their hour-long visit. If a parent isn't sure whether their child is ready for Mathnasium, we're happy to talk with them and have them come in to the center for a trial visit. 

• What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of North Blue Valley?

  Mathnasium of North Blue Valley provides premium-value math tutoring by combining superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. 

  Our program features a flat enrollment fee and students attend regularly— much like a gym membership. Most students attend two to three times per week. After a diagnostic assessment, we design a personalized learning plan with recommended session frequency based on your child’s goals.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

  There is no difference! Membership pricing is the same for all students, whether they choose to attend sessions online, in person, or use a hybrid approach. 

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  The diagnostic assessment serves to identify each student’s current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals, so we can design a plan tailored to their specific needs. 

  Understanding each student’s unique approach to math helps us adjust instruction to their learning style and pace and empower them to unlock their true potential. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of North Blue Valley, we do not follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.  

  Using this approach, our specially trained math tutors meet students where they are in math and introduce new concepts step-by-step, in a logical sequence.   

  As students begin to close their knowledge gaps and strengthen their foundational skills, math begins to click. They learn new tactics and gradually transform how they think and feel about the subject.  

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  Both! Mathnasium of North Blue Valley supports students of all skill levels, whether they’re catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead.

  Advanced students can explore topics beyond their grade level, pursue enrichment opportunities, and deepen their understanding of math through personalized learning plans tailored to their goals. 

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Overland Park?

  Yes, our specially trained math tutors work with all K–12 students in North Blue Valley and Overland Park, whether they are homeschooled or attending a public or private school.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes! Our math tutors will set aside time during each session to help students with their math homework, empowering them to truly understand the concepts and complete their schoolwork independently.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, we do not assign additional homework. All learning takes place during sessions, so students can stay focused and engaged. 

• Does Mathnasium of North Blue Valley prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes, Mathnasium of North Blue Valley prepares students for school-based and standardized math tests, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®.   

  Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.
