Karyn Songer
Center Director
Karyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Science from Fresno State and completed the credential program in 2002. She began her education career tutoring in college and went on to teach 6th grade for seven years at a local charter school.
At Mathnasium, Karyn is excited to help students develop a true understanding of math. She believes that when math makes sense, it becomes fun and empowering. Her goal is to help every student grow in both confidence and skill.
Andy Benitez Lopez
Assistant Center Director
Andy is currently studying Mathematics at Fresno State with the goal of becoming a math teacher. A proud Edison High School graduate, Andy discovered his passion for science and technology through the school’s engineering program.
At Mathnasium, he brings that same enthusiasm to every student he works with. Andy enjoys helping students understand math and build confidence in their abilities. In his free time, he enjoys video games and painting.
Daniel Hieng
Instructor
Daniel is a Mathematics major at Fresno State and is passionate about helping students succeed. He has plans to become a high school or college math teacher and finds joy in supporting others as they learn.
He attended Corcoran and Golden West High Schools and brings a thoughtful, encouraging approach to every student interaction. Outside of Mathnasium, Daniel enjoys gaming and exploring new ways to make math engaging.
Kason Fite
Instructor
Kason holds an A.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Fresno City College. He brings both knowledge and encouragement to every session at Mathnasium.
Kason enjoys seeing the progress that students make and takes pride in helping them gain confidence. When he’s not at the center, he coaches baseball and brings that same team spirit and motivation to his work with students.
Sukhampreet Kaur

Sukham is attending UC Merced where she majors in Computer Science. Sukham is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi, as well as English, c++, java and python.
Elizabeth Nicolet
Instructor
Elizabeth is a Fresno native. She is currently enrolled at Fresno State working toward a degree in Elementary Education. She draws great inspiration from her Mathnasium students and loves seeing all the progress they make towards their goals.
Abel Sandoval
Instructor
Abel has a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Communication. He is active as a substitute teacher in FUSD. Abel has a lot of experience tutoring math and loves to work with the kids here at Mathnasium.
