Michelle Koester
Owner & Center Director
Michelle is the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Papillion. Previously, she worked as Vice President for an international in-home care provider and led instructor teams for a global software training company. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and an M.S. in Leadership Development/Performance Improvement and Adult Learning from Drake University.
Michelle has tutored math students of all ages throughout her career and is proud to lead a team. Her favorite numbers are 7 and 23, which remind her of the curiosity math inspires.
Robyn
Lead Instructor
Robyn brings energy and creativity to every lesson at Mathnasium. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, she holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, specializing in elementary and special education, and currently teaches kindergarten in Omaha. She loves helping every student discover their inner mathematician and find joy in learning.
When she’s not teaching, Robyn performs musical improv at Backline Comedy Theater and works as a teaching artist at The Rose Theater. Known for her warmth and humor, she enjoys singing to her cat, Pancake, and believes laughter makes learning last.
James
Senior Instructor
James is studying education at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he’s preparing for a career as a high school teacher. Inspired by educators who helped him fall in love with learning, he began coaching his former debate team after graduation and discovered his passion for teaching.
At Mathnasium, James helps students strengthen their problem-solving skills and confidence in math. Outside the center, he enjoys exploring new recipes, spending time with friends, and planning his next travel adventure. His favorite number is 10—a simple reminder to always give his best effort.
Owen
Instructor
Owen is working toward his bachelors degree, currently taking calculus II. He has developed strong tutoring skills at Mathnasium and through tutoring peers in Spanish during high school. Long term, Owen plans to attend dental school, where he hopes to combine his love of science, precision, and problem-solving.
At Mathnasium, Owen enjoys helping students see math as both logical and creative. He has a strong interest in music, and outside of work, he plays piano, enjoys gaming, and spends time with family and friends. His favorite number is 3.
Michaela
Senior Instructor
Michaela holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and an associate’s degree in Science. She is currently preparing to become an officer in the Air Force and brings discipline and curiosity to her teaching. Her academic interests include trigonometry, calculus, and deterministic operations research.
As a former special education paraprofessional, Michaela understands the importance of patience and encouragement in helping students succeed. She loves reading, coding in Python, and sketching the unit circle. Her favorite number is pi, a symbol of infinity and the endless possibilities that come with learning.
Vicky
Instructor
Vicky is a junior at Papillion La Vista High School. She is currently taking AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1, and she is a part of the biomedical pathway of the Health Systems Academy. After high school, she plans to study medicine to become an interventional radiologist.
In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute & piano, shopping, traveling, and conducting her high school marching band. Vicky’s favorite number is 12 because it is very versatile.
Maia
Instructor
Maia is a senior at Papillion La Vista High School taking Calculus BC. She is taking classes as part of the Patient Care pathway of the PLCS Health Systems Academy. After High School, Maia plans to attend Creighton University to major in Biology.
In her free time, Maia enjoys playing the flute, playing tennis, and spending time with her dog. Her favorite number is 21 because it is her birthday.

No, the experience is designed to be consistent across both formats.
Online students follow the same customized learning plans and work directly with the specially trained tutors they would meet at our Papillion center.
We can support students with any K–12 math class or topic, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and advanced high school math.
