• Where is Mathnasium of South Charlotte located?

  Mathnasium of South Charlotte is located at 8133 Ardrey Kell Road, #102, in Charlotte, NC 28277. Our center is near Bisonte Pizza Co, Lavender Spa & Nail Salon, and Ken Costanza: Allstate Insurance, and close to Novant Health Pediatrics Ardrey Kell. We offer convenient parking and easy access for families.

• What math classes can your Charlotte tutors help with?

  Mathnasium’s specially trained tutors can help students learn and master any K-12 math class or topic, from basic arithmetic through Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, and advanced high school math.  

  We follow learning plans that are tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and style, so they can receive focused instruction and make meaningful progress toward their goals. 

• What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of South Charlotte?

  Mathnasium of South Charlotte provides premium value through a flat monthly membership and a one-time enrollment fee.  

  Most students attend two to three times per week. After a diagnostic assessment, we design a personalized learning plan with recommended session frequency based on your child’s goals. Contact us at [email protected] to learn more. 

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  The diagnostic assessment serves to identify each student’s current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals, so we can design a plan tailored to their specific needs.  

  Understanding each student’s unique approach to math helps us adjust instruction to their learning style and pace and empower them to unlock their true potential. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of South Charlotte, we do not follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.  

  Using this approach, our specially trained math tutors meet students where they are in math and introduce new concepts step-by-step, in a logical sequence.  

  As students begin to close their knowledge gaps and strengthen their foundational skills, math begins to click. They learn new tactics and gradually transform how they think and feel about the subject. 

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  We support students of all skill levels.  

  Students who are behind in math class receive caring, targeted instruction to rebuild foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners benefit from enrichment opportunities that challenge their thinking and deepen their understanding.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Charlotte?

  Absolutely! We welcome students from homeschool, public, and private school backgrounds across Charlotte and surrounding communities.  

  Our flexible scheduling and personalized instruction complement homeschooling programs and goals. 

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes! Our tutors make time during each session to help students with their homework and ensure they understand the concepts they’re learning in school.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No, we do not assign additional homework. All learning takes place during sessions, so students can stay focused and engaged.

• Does Mathnasium of South Charlotte prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes! Mathnasium of South Charlotte prepares students for school-based and standardized math tests such as CoGAT, EOGs, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®.  We also help prepare for Math competitions like Math Kangaroo, MathCon etc

  Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.

• What are the important policies at Mathnasium South Charlotte?

  • Mathnasium is a No-Contract program. Memberships are "Up to X" sessions per calendar month. Sessions do not roll over. 
  • A No-Show will result in a forfeited session. You can always cancel up to 9 AM in the morning of your appointment via text, call, or on appointy. 
  • Tuition will be auto-drafted on the first of every month. We must be notified 1 month (30 days notice) if your student will not attend the next month. Any break longer than 30 days will result in a $50 restart fee.

  Schedule   

  •  We've had many students come in a few minutes early, or a few minutes late for their session. Late Arrivals will need to end at the scheduled end time. We have a constant rotation of students coming in and out, and we do need all seats, so please try to adhere as close to the appointment time as possible. 
  • Late Pick-Up Policy: If you are consistently more than 10 minutes late to pick up your student, you will forfeit 30 minutes of instruction for each late pick-up. If you are consistently late picking up for the last appointment time (5:00), you will no longer be able to schedule sessions at that time. 
  • Early arrivals : We can start early sometimes, and sometimes we can't. Please text before sending your student in if you are arriving early. We have a very small waiting area, and need to reserve that space for students waiting to be picked up.
  • Picking Up Students

  We are VERY strict about the students not walking out the door without a director seeing you or your car. No student is allowed to cross the parking lot without us watching. Please do not wave your student to come out without us knowing. We WILL chase them down. Also, please do not come in to get them. We will deliver the student to you at the door. When you come in, the front gets crowded. A student can sneak out without us knowing. Also, our waiting area is small and we need the seats for students. Parents, Grandparents, Guardians should not sit up front to wait for a student. Again, we will deliver them to the door. 

  • STUDENT SAFETY

  This is SUPER important to us! As you can tell from above. Do not park in our 15 min spots for more than 5 min. Students must go in-between cars to get in/out of the center when parents do that. We will bring your student out to you if you park across the way or on the side. I will be calling or texting you if we see your student’s ride in those spots for longer than 5 min. 

  • Sick Policy

  Please adhere to the 24 hour fever-free rule when sending your child to Mathnasium.  Students are coming in after missing school due to fever/illness/bug and are still not 100%. And, believe me, they tell us! Our instructors sit face-to-face with the students.  When a student is sick, sneezing, or coughing (regardless of a negative test result, seasonal allergies, etc.), it often leads to a sick or uncomfortable instructor. We will contact you to pick up your student early. 

  • Saturdays are for Learning Plan ONLY. Due to Saturdays being run with a limited staff; Students may not work on homework, special requests, or anything other than their Mathnasium Learning Plan. Thank you for understanding.
  • Assessments
    Progress Checks will be given to your student every 8-12 weeks during the school year. With more homework and special requests, we want enough time in the LP before we assess again.
