At Mathnasium of Southeast Portland, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.
Following this approach, our specially trained tutors build on students' existing knowledge, introducing new concepts step-by-step to gradually increase their mathematical thinking, while developing lasting confidence and competence in math.
Both! We support students of all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or are ready to get ahead on their math journey.

Yes! We support K–12 students from all educational backgrounds, including homeschooled, private, and public school students throughout Southeast Portland and surrounding neighborhoods.
Our schoolwork policy is individually tailored to each student, and the first step in determining this is through our free assessment. We pride ourselves in helping students find independent success in math by addressing the root cause of why schoolwork is an issue: weak fundamental skills.
If we find that a student has gaps in their knowledge, we make rebuilding these skills a priority. When a student's math foundations are strengthened to the point where they can grasp the concepts taught in their math class, only then do we allow students to work on schoolwork for a portion of their Mathnasium sessions.
If we provide help on schoolwork prematurely, it would create a sense of dependence, not independence, within a student. Nor would it help them find confidence in math. Not a winning strategy!
Our Mathnasium Method has proven successful with thousands of students over the 10+ years we've served our communities. We'd love to help your student achieve "Confidence in Math, Confidence in Life!". Click the button above to book your free assessment today!
