    No, the experience is designed to be consistent across both formats.  

    Online students follow the same customized learning plans and work directly with the specially trained tutors they would meet at our Knoxville center.

    There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly. After a diagnostic assessment, we create a personalized learning plan with a recommended session frequency tailored to your child’s goals.

  • Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

    No. Membership pricing is the same whether your child attends online, in person, or uses a hybrid format.

  • Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

    The purpose of the diagnostic assessment is to provide insight into the student’s current skill level, learning style, and unique goals. We use these insights to create a learning plan tailored to their specific needs, so they can truly understand math and build the skills they need to advance.

  • How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

    At Mathnasium of West Knoxville, we don’t follow a fixed curriculum. We use our proprietary approach called the Mathnasium Method™, which combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques to develop solid foundations for math mastery.  

    Our approach builds on each student’s existing knowledge, addressing the gaps in their understanding and introducing new concepts gradually and in a logical sequence. We work with students to expand their mathematical thinking so they can build the skills and confidence to excel in the classroom and beyond.

  • Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

    We support students of all skill levels. 

    Students who are behind in math class receive targeted support to rebuild foundational skills and strengthen confidence. Advanced learners benefit from enrichment programs that challenge their thinking and deepen their mathematical knowledge.

  • Do you work with homeschooled students in Knoxville?

    Absolutely! We welcome homeschooled students, as well as those attending public and private schools across Knoxville and surrounding communities.
