  Mathnasium of Barrington is located at 106 N Northwest Hwy, Barrington, IL 60010, at the corner of Main Street and N Northwest Highway, just east of downtown Barrington. We’re right next to Circle K Shell Gas station and Wow Spa Nails, making us a convenient and accessible stop for local families.

• Do you offer online tutoring?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Barrington offers both in-center and online tutoring.  

  Whether students attend online or in person, they receive personalized, face-to-face instruction from the same specially trained tutors in a supportive and engaging group environment.

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No. Students who attend online receive the same quality of instruction, tailored learning plans, and caring guidance they would experience in the center.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring at Mathnasium of Barrington?

  No. Whether students attend sessions in person or online, the membership fee remains the same.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment at Mathnasium of Barrington?

  Each student begins their journey with a diagnostic assessment that helps us understand their current skill level, identify gaps in understanding, and set goals. These insights allow us to create a personalized learning plan that fits their unique needs.

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Barrington, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques. 

  Building upon what each student already knows, we introduce new concepts gradually, breaking them down into manageable steps to help them fill in knowledge gaps, build strong foundations, and even transform how they think and feel about math.

  Yes. We work with students of all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead on their math journey. 

  Students who are struggling with math benefit from personalized instruction and confidence-building support.  

  Advanced students enroll in enrichment programs and enjoy opportunities to deepen their understanding and push their critical thinking skills.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Barrington?

  Absolutely! We support K–12 students from all educational settings, including homeschool, public, and private school families throughout Barrington and surrounding areas.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. Our tutors dedicate time during each session to help students with their math homework and ensure they understand the material they are covering in school.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No. All instruction takes place during sessions with our specially trained tutors. We do not assign homework, allowing students to stay focused and make measurable progress while they’re with us.

  Yes. Mathnasium of Barrington helps students prepare for standardized math exams such as state tests, ACT®, SAT®, and PSAT®.
