What do you like most about learning?
Being able to share the knowledge with other people.
What is the biggest impact you’ve had on a student’s ability to become proficient in math?
The biggest impact I’ve had is helping students change the way they see themselves as math learners. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they have gaps in foundational skills or believe they are simply “not good at math.” I focus on identifying those gaps, breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps, and giving students multiple ways to understand and practice each skill. As students begin experiencing small successes, their confidence grows, and they become more willing to ask questions, explain their reasoning, and persevere through challenging problems. Helping a student move from avoiding math to approaching it with confidence and independence is the most meaningful impact I can make.
What type of math do you enjoy teaching most?
Calculus
How do you make learning math fun for students?
I make math fun by keeping lessons active, relevant, and appropriately challenging. I use games, puzzles, hands-on materials, technology, collaborative activities, and real-world situations so students can see that math is more than completing problems on a worksheet. I also give students opportunities to make choices, discover patterns, and explain their own strategies. Friendly competition and celebrations of effort can add excitement, but I make sure the focus remains on learning rather than simply getting the correct answer. Most importantly, I create a classroom environment where mistakes are treated as part of the learning process, so students feel comfortable taking risks and participating.
