• Does Mathnasium of Vacaville offer online tutoring?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Vacaville provides both in-center and online math tutoring! All students receive face-to-face instruction in a supportive group environment from the same caring tutors, no matter how they attend.

• Is there a difference between online and in-center tutoring?

  Nope, the experience is designed to be consistent across both formats!  

  Online students follow the same customized learning plans and work directly with the specially trained tutors they would meet at our Vacaville center.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center tutoring?

  Nope! Membership pricing includes remote @home instruction, so your costs will stay consistent whether you choose to attend online, in person, or a combination of both!

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  The diagnostic assessment serves to identify each student’s current skill level, knowledge gaps, and learning goals, so we can design a plan tailored to their specific needs. 

  Understanding each student’s unique approach to math helps us adjust instruction to their learning style and pace and empower them to unlock their true potential. 

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Vacaville, we do not follow a traditional curriculum. We use our proprietary approach called the Mathnasium Method™, which combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques to develop solid foundations for math mastery. 

  Our approach builds on each student’s existing knowledge, addressing the gaps in their understanding and introducing new concepts gradually and in a logical sequence. We work with students to expand their mathematical thinking so they can build the skills and confidence to excel in the classroom and beyond. 

• Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

  Yes! We support students of all skill levels. 

  Students who are behind in math class receive targeted instruction and caring support to rebuild foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners benefit from enrichment programs designed to expand their mathematical thinking. 

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Vacaville?

  Absolutely! We work with students from public, private, and homeschool settings in and around the Vacaville area.

• Do you help students with their schoolwork?

  Yes! Whenever your kiddo has a specific school topic that they need support with, you can let us know! Our team then custom designs curriculum to teach the requested topic, while taking into account the student's existing prerequisite skills so they can better grasp the content. We then set aside time to focus on instruction and understanding of the designed curriculum so students can reinforce the concepts they are covering at school and reduce stress at home.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  Nope! All learning happens during the session, either in-center or online. We don’t assign additional homework so students can stay focused and productive during their time with us.

• Does Mathnasium of Vacaville prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes. Mathnasium of Vacaville helps students get ready for math on standardized tests such as state exams, the SAT®, and ACT®.  

  Our program combines targeted practice with problem-solving strategies, as well as confidence-building support, so students perform their best on test day and beyond.
