Dr. Valerie Johnson has been part of the Mathnasium team since 2015, serving as an Instructor, Lead Instructor, and Center Director. With 27 years of experience in education as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal across Dallas, Santa Fe, and Fort Worth, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for helping students succeed. She has presented at multiple Mathnasium Annual Conferences on topics including assessments, staff development, and standardized testing, and brings expertise in exams such as ISEE, ERB, and STAAR.

Creator of the Mathnasium Method
Larry has spent his career finding better ways to teach math. With experience as a classroom teacher, educational consultant, and leader in public, magnet, private, and parochial schools, he has developed innovative curricula, teaching strategies, and materials that help students and teachers succeed. Larry is the creator of Mathnasium’s educational program, one of the most comprehensive math curricula designed to build students’ skills, confidence, and love of learning. While he is not an Instructor at our Center, Larry remains a valuable resource, providing guidance and insight to help support student success.
Matthew Tran
Instructor
Matthew brings a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and a passion for lifelong learning. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently studying accounting to continue expanding his analytical skills. A lifelong Pokémon fan, Matthew believes in the power of teamwork and persistence—values he shares with his students every day. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys playing piano, exploring maps, and volunteering as a youth leader.

Will Wyma
Instructor
Will is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Mathematics. He is currently working toward becoming a credentialed actuary and uses his strong math background and problem-solving skills to help students see math as approachable and rewarding. Outside of teaching, Will enjoys playing the violin, spending time with friends, and exploring his favorite video games. He loves sharing his passion for math while helping students build confidence in their abilities.

Lily is a high school student with four years of math tutoring experience under her belt. She has big dreams of attending UT Austin to pursue a medical degree and eventually becoming a doctor. When she’s not solving math problems, Lily loves learning new things, helping others, and finding ways to build confidence in every student she teaches.
