David Hall
Center Director
David Hall is more than the Center Director at Mathnasium of South County—he’s a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience and a lifelong passion for learning. A St. Louis native, he holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Mizzou and has taught in both the Lindbergh School District and Andrews Academy in Creve Coeur. His background in music shaped his individualized teaching style, which he now brings to math instruction.
David believes in infusing fun and creativity into learning so students build both skills and confidence. As a parent himself, he understands the challenges families face and works to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Together with his talented team, David helps students gain the strong foundation they need for success in math and beyond.
Lindsey
Instructor
Lindsey is a proud graduate of Fox High School and a senior at Saint Louis University, where she’s pursuing a double major in Political Science and History with a minor in Ignatian Service. With a 3.97 GPA and a heart for helping others, she brings academic excellence and compassion to her work with students.
Her leadership shines through roles as a peer mentor, teaching assistant, and dance coach, and she brings that same patience and curiosity to Mathnasium. Lindsey loves meeting kids where they are—whether supporting shy learners or challenging advanced ones—and showing them that math can be a door to opportunity.
Jenny
Instructor
With 24 years of experience in K–12 education, Jenny brings a deep well of knowledge and a passion for helping students succeed. She has taught Algebra, Geometry, Earth Science, and Physical Education, giving her a broad perspective on student learning needs.
Jenny is known for her warm but structured teaching style, building trust while setting clear expectations. She specializes in Algebra 2 and Geometry and finds joy in helping students make connections, gain confidence, and see math as something they can understand and even enjoy.
Eldin
Instructor
Eldin recently graduated from Affton High School and will begin his Engineering studies at Washington University in St. Louis in 2025. Having recently completed AP and college-level coursework, he understands firsthand the challenges students face in today’s classrooms.
He enjoys the problem-solving nature of math and encourages students to see every problem as an opportunity. Outside of academics, Eldin relaxes with video games and movies, and his favorite quote, “Do or do not. There is no try,” reflects the mindset he hopes to instill in his students.

A passionate math instructor, Scott brings a unique perspective to Mathnasium of South County. In high school, he demonstrated strengths in math and programming as senior Robotics team programmer. This ignited his interest in the intersection of math and technology, setting the foundation for future endeavors. Currently pursuing computer science, Scott specializes in back-end programming's mathematical nature. He is intrigued by the mathematical principles underlying software systems and enjoys puzzling abstract ideas into streamlined code. Beyond academics, Scott finds relaxation in strategic board games. His favorite poem, John Donne's "No Man is an Island," speaks to his belief in interconnectedness and the importance of collaboration and empathy—a philosophy he brings to teaching. As a Mathnasium Instructor, Scott is committed to nurturing student curiosity. He believes math is not just a subject but a way of thinking that empowers problem-solving confidence and creativity. Through teaching, he strives to inspire the next generation of critical thinkers.

Hope is an ambitious and goal-driven individual currently studying Biochemical Engineering at the University of North Alabama. With a passion for fitness, community building, and problem-solving, she is eager to bring her diverse skill set to benefit the Mathnasium community. During her time at the University of North Alabama, Hope has excelled academically as a member of the Cole Honors College, maintaining a stellar 4.0 GPA. Additionally, she has represented her university as an NCAA beach volleyball athlete, showcasing her dedication and teamwork skills both on and off the court. Prior to joining Mathnasium, Hope gained valuable experience as a summer nanny, where she supervised activities and provided childcare for children aged 1-9. She also served as a sound systems operator at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, demonstrating her technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities. With her passion for education and commitment to making a positive impact, Hope is excited to contribute to the success of students at Mathnasium and help them achieve their math goals.

Lara Thornley Hall, a CPA from Sydney, Australia, is the proud owner of Mathnasium of South County. With a passion for making math engaging and accessible, Lara discovered the Mathnasium Method while seeking support for her own child. Impressed by its effectiveness, she was determined to bring this impactful approach to her community.
Lara is deeply committed to creating a supportive learning environment where children can build strong math foundations and develop a love for learning. Her experience as a CPA, combined with her personal journey navigating her child’s education, has shaped her strong belief in the importance of quality math education.
Beyond her work at Mathnasium, Lara is actively involved in the local community. She participates in both the Southwest and Affton-Leemay Chambers of Commerce, contributing to various community initiatives and events.
