  Mathnasium of Altrincham is at 72 Stamford New Road, Altrincham WA14 1BS, a couple of minutes' walk from Altrincham train station, opposite Gran T's coffee house and next to Bar Etna. Tesco Extra and Sainsbury's are both a short walk away, making it easy to combine the school run with errands while your child is in their session.

  Mathnasium of Altrincham works with children from Reception through to GCSE, children aged 4 to 16, covering all Key Stages from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4. 

  Trafford is one of the few areas in England that still has a fully selective grammar school system, which means the question of secondary school entry comes early for many local families. We work with children across all year groups, whether the immediate goal is the Trafford GL, a place at one of the area's independent schools, or simply strong and consistent progress through primary and secondary maths. 

• What maths topics and subjects can your tutors in Altrincham help with?

  Our instructors cover the full breadth of primary and secondary maths, from early number skills and times tables through to algebra, geometry, ratio, probability, trigonometry, and statistics at GCSE level.   In practice, our tutors draw on mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques, all guided by each pupil's personalised learning plan. • Do you work with advanced children or only the ones struggling with maths?

• Do you offer GCSE maths tutoring?

  Yes! Our instructors work with Year 10 and Year 11 pupils on personalised GCSE preparation plans built around their current grade, target, and the topics that need the most work. We cover the complete GCSE maths curriculum across both Foundation and Higher tiers: number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics. 

  Grammar school pupils in Trafford often come to us with high grade targets and a need to keep pace with fast-moving classroom teaching. We build a plan that supports both, filling gaps efficiently and building the exam technique that Higher tier papers require.

• Do you prepare children for SATs®?

  Yes, we support Year 6 children preparing for their KS2 SATs® maths papers, working across both the Arithmetic and Reasoning components with a personalised plan focused on each pupil's specific areas of difficulty.  

  For many Altrincham families, Year 6 is also the Trafford GL year, so we are well practised in supporting pupils who are preparing for both at the same time. 

  We also support Year 4 children ahead of the Multiplication Tables Check and Year 2 children working towards their KS1 teacher assessments.

  Mathnasium of Altrincham operates on a flat monthly membership fee, with several different options depending on your child’s unique situation. Following the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session schedule tailored to your child's personalised learning plan. Most students attend two to three times a week.
